Easton's Beach Closed Yet Again; Peabody's Open
Easton's Beach was closed earlier this week, then reopened and now is closed again to swimming thanks to bacteria levels.

Those who are braving the colder-than-usual waters of Narragansett Bay this year should be in the habit of checking the latest beach closure information with the state Department of Health by now.
That’s because some beaches have been closed and reopened a few times already this season thanks to elevated bacteria counts.
As of Thursday afternoon, Easton’s Beach in Newport, which was just reopened on Wednesday, is closed once again to swimming.

Meanwhile over in neighboring MIddletown, Peabody’s Beach, which is back open based on water quality tests that show bacteria levels have fallen enough that the water is safe for swimming. The beach had been closed since June 16.
