
The Newport Irish Heritage Association hosts an evening of Irish-themed entertainment which also honors the Cardinal Family Saturday, October 30 at the Hibernian Hall, 2 Wellington Avenue, Newport.
Entertainment:
- Irish-born local actor, Mike Healy, in the one-man short comedy "First Confession" by Frank O'Connor
- Step dancers from the Maura Nevins School of dance
- Traditional Irish music with a sing-a-long hosted by Tom Maguire and Tim May.
Refreshments:
- Scones, Irish soda bread and tea
- Cash Bar

Bill and Karen Cardinal, owners of the Middletown IHOP, along with the restaurant's staff, will be honored for their strong and ongoing support of many community non-profit organizations, especially their dedication to Irish-oriented organizations, including the Irish Heritage Association, the Museum of Newport Irish History, and The Ancient Order of Hibernians.

About The Newport Irish Heritage Association:
The Newport Irish Heritage Association was founded in 1977 by Rick Kelly, Jim Mahoney, Rick O'Neill and the late Paul Crowley. The mission of the organization is to educate the public on the cultural and civic contributions of the Irish to our local community and world-wide. The Association sponsors educational, cultural and historical programs and scholarships, and is best known for the month-long Newport Irish Heritage Month calendar of events it organizes each March.
