The Police Parade is a two-hour tribute to all of those officers lost in the line of duty in 2010, as well as those who continue to serve our communities. Family members and co workers of fallen heroes will partake in this event dedicated to their loved ones.Β
Officers from all over the country travel to partake in this worthwhile cause and showcase their profession.Β Β The event draws a crowd of about 70,000 spectators, lining the sidewalks and lawns to watch, over 4,000 participants commemorate National Police Week. This event is one of only a handful of parades of this type around the country outside of Washington D.C.
Parade leaves from 317 West Main Road, Middletown (Hampton Inn and Suites) and continues south for 1.6 miles to the reviewing stand in front of 120 Broadway, Newport.
