Artist Den Wednesday at Scampi

Looking for a great Valentine’s Day gift for that someone special? Scampi Restaurant has the perfect solution for you! Introducing Artist Den Wednesdays beginning February 1, just in time to find a truly unique gift from the local community! Come enjoy the variety of artwork Rhode Island has to offer. Kicking off Artist Den will be our featured artists from Top Drawer Art at The Brass, a nonprofit visual arts center providing art programs for adults with developmental disabilities. Top Drawer works to promote the idea that art is a universal human trait that gives purpose to one’s life and works as a bridge between people and communities. Their mission is to unravel the traditional social isolation adults with developmental disabilities have faced and reintroduce them as working, productive members of a community, where their role has transformed from “disabled person” to “artist”. In addition to Top Drawer, February 1 will include a variety of other artwork including stunning jewelry by le’Belle, the award winning designs of Anchor Bend Glassworks, photography by John Hames and beautiful bags by Sacs de Chiffon.

Are you an artist yourself? Scampi restaurant welcomes artists of all skill levels and mediums to come and share their work, or just come in and enjoy a night out with the art community. Scampi has a beautiful event space overlooking the bay that will be designated as a space to showcase local artists. From photography, to paintings, to sculpture and jewelry we welcome it all! Artists are invited to display and sell their work the first Wednesday of every month 2:00-5:00. Scampi’s goal is to bring attention not only to the Island Park art community but also bring other Rhode Island artists and art enthusiasts together at Scampi. If you are interested in being a participating artist please contact Sarah at Sarah@scampi.me to reserve your space or to become a featured artist. Reservations for display space for Artist Den are required and are first come first serve.
