Comedy at Firehouse Theater with Trinity Zoo

  • The Trinity Zoo is a collection of some of Southern New England’s most talented teenage performers.  The Zoo performs long form and freestyle improv, based on the idea that the funniest material is truth-based.  Everything you see on stage is made up at the moment it is performed.

The Zoo was started in 2007 by Mauro Hantman, Trinity Rep actor, founding member of Improv Jones, and director of the Providence Improv Fest.  After teaching improv to teenagers for several years, Mauro assembled the most promising students from several classes into The Zoo.  Auditions are held annually for new members, open to any high school student.  The Zoo has played at various venues in Rhode Island, Boston, and several times at the Providence Improv Fest, where they won the top prize in the 2008 Local Improv Blowout.
