Newport Cooks! Gourmet in the Galley -Planning & Provisioning: Eating Well at Sea: 3 Great Meals a Day

Taught by Private Chef Christy Erickson-Prior

Whether it’s a day on the water with friends, a racing weekend with an entire crew to feed or a week’s delivery with nary a market in sight, it makes everyone’s experience much more enjoyable if you’ve planned for 3 great meals each day.  Given that galleys can be small, storage space and/or refrigeration is often limited and that everything must be purchased prior to leaving port, proper planning and provisioning are essential.  Allow seasoned racing sailor, Yacht Chef and Culinary Institute graduate Christy Prior to share her time earned tips & tricks for keeping your guests, crew and mates happy and well fed while at sea.  She’ll share some of her favorite easy “go to” items that will make it appear you’ve been slaving in the galley all day!  We’ll taste everything we make in class and you’ll go home with recipes and a boatload of helpful provisioning information. We’ll also taste wines to compliment the menu chosen by Newport Wine Cellar.
