Join Author Chip Bishop, Saturday at 2 pm at Newport Public Library as he discusses his book The Lion and the Journalist-The Unlikely Friendship of Teddy Roosevelt and Joseph B Bishop. Joseph Bishop was secretary of the Panama Canal Commission and later wrote a 2 volume biography of President Roosevelt in 1920. The two men knew each other for many years. Author Bishop used their letters, more than 600 letters, to create this book. Island Books will have the book available for puchase and signing. This is open to the public.
