Flynn Fallout Continues: U.S. Sen. Jack Reed Says Congress Must Investigate Flynn's Resignation

MIDDLETOWN, RI—U.S. Sen. Jack Reed says Congress should investigate questions about the departure of Middletown native Gen. Michael Flynn, who was ousted earlier this month as President Trump's National Security Advisor.

Flynn, a retired U.S. Lt. Army General, served less than one month at his new post before Trump asked for his resignation over misleading the vice-president and other officials about his communications with Russian diplomats.

"There are real questions regarding Russia's involvement in our election and reported connections to the Trump Administration," Reed wrote in a letter to constituents Friday. "As troubling information about this relationship continues to emerge, Congress has a duty to investigate and release pertinent information so that Americans can get the truth.

Reed went on to say his concerns went beyond Flynn.
