  Why Go: There’s nothing quite like a bonfire on the beach, and this is a safe and enjoyable way to do it with family and friends from across the community.

• JOYA HOYT ART OPENING/RECEPTION
  Where/When: on Thursday, Aug. 4 from 6 to 8 p.m.
  Why Go: Join artist Joya Hoyt as she displays her photo collages of Navajo Rug Designs in the SBF barn. A portion of the proceeds from any of sales of the art will be donated to the Aquidneck Land Trust.

  Why Go: Stand up paddlers will compete in men’s, women’s and mixed individual and relay races on a three-mile course to benefit the , , and . A family style picnic will follow on the beach.
