Middletown Firefighters Grateful for Donations to MDA

Over Labor Day weekend, Middletown Firefighters were out once again at the intersection of West Main Road and Coddington Highway conducting our annual Fill-the-Boot drive for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The MDA has long been the "firefighters' charity" and we go out every year over the holiday weekend, in conjunction with departments across the country, to raise money for the MDA. Every penny we collect goes directly to the organization, and is used in a variety of ways to support patient services, education, and research (visit http://www.mda.org for additional information). This year we raised over $15,000 over the course of the weekend, and on behalf of the Middletown Fire Fighters Association, as well as the Rhode Island chapter of the MDA, I would like to thank all those who took the time to donate this weekend as they passed through our collection point. Every little bit makes a difference, and we are proud to be a part of something that is able to make such a positive difference in the lives of others.
