Middletown Man Shot in Maine Leaves Hospital
Jason Almeida, the Middletown man shot in Maine last month, has recovered enough to leave the hospital, according to his girl friend.

MIDDLETOWN, RI — Jason Almeida has left Central Medical Hospital in Maine where he underwent surgery and spent 28 days recovering from four gun shot wounds, according to his girl friend Alyssa Goulet.
Goulet, who grew up in North Kingstown, reported his recovery has astonished the nurses. Almeida almost died from his injuries suffered Nov. 26 when two men came to the camper where he and Goulet were staying and opened fire.
At the door, "one produced a handgun and started shooting," police said. Goulet "escaped being wounded as the shots were fired through a window of the camp," according to Steve McCausland, spokesman for the State Police.
