Middletown Pop Warner Kicks Off Season

See Pop Warner's Week One game schedule here. Plus, there's plenty of opportunities for all ages to get involved, from the young players to adult volunteers, who make league play possible.

Last week's Pop Warner Round Robin was a great success and, beginning this week, we're now entering regular football season league play.

Here's a brief recap look back at the pre-season play, a schedule for the coming week, brief snapshot of each division, and suggested ways for parents and the community to get involved.

Pre-Season

Middletown Pop Warner Football recently kicked off its season with its annual Round Robin tournament. With no empty parking spots and fans shoulder to shoulder at Gaudet field, a sense of energy was evident.

During the round robin, teams scrimmaged against one another while splitting up each side of the 50 yard line. While watching young kids develop their skills on the field is entertaining, the most intriguing aspect of the tournament is watching these young athletes establish a sense of teamwork and diligence. Besides, maybe the next Justin Fargas or Mike Cloud has laced up their cleats for the first time.

Get Involved

On another note, there is so much to do during Pop Warner football events, including volunteer work, fund raising, field/game Management, concession stand help, transportation, and processing of parent and athlete information. All can be found here at the islanders website

Pop Warner football would not happen without all the help from their volunteers in the community, as their efforts help the younger generation athletes meet their goals and build relationships.
