Mike Flynn To Plead Guilty To Lying To FBI

MIDDLETOWN, RI — Mike Flynn, the Rhode Island native who went on to briefly become President Trump's national security advisor, has been charged by with "willfully and knowingly" lying to the FBI about conversations with Russia's ambassador. Flynn is expected to plead guilty Friday morning.

Flynn has been charged with a single count of making false statements, according to court documents released Friday. The charges come from special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into whether the Trump campaign was involved with Russia to undermine Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign.

There have been recent signs that Flynn's legal team may be working on a deal with the special counsel.
