Muttering About Satan: Tourist Taken Into Custody
Police charged a Chicopee, Mass., woman with disorderly conduct after an incident at Aquidneck Pizza.

MIDDLETOWN, RI — Police were called to Aquidneck Pizzeria on May 29 around 9:08 p.m. for a complaint about a customer who allegedly walked into the kitchen and threw chips and silverware around. Shauna Ripley, 31, of Chicopee, Mass., met police at the restaurant door, officers said. She was barefoot, officers allege, and had been walking through the pizzeria. During the interview with police, she tried to push her way into the kitchen, police allege, but they handcuffed her and moved her to the cruiser. The restaurant staff said she seemed hysterical when she first came inside. Then she went into the kitchen and put her hands on the cook. Then she left and sat in another customer's car outside. The restaurant called officers when she returned and put her hands on another employee. None of the employees wanted to press charges, police said. Ripley was given a summons and charged with Disorderly conduct. Police drove her back to her hotel where her husband was waiting.
