Obituary: Michelle M. Estrella, 45, Del's Manager

Michelle M. Estrella, 45, of Middletown, RI, died Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at the R.I. Hospital in Providence, RI, after a courageous two year battle with cancer.

Born in Newport, RI on September 25, 1968. She was a daughter of Shirley A. Robinson of Fall River, MA and the late Joseph “Little Joe” Estrella.

Born and raised in the Fifth Ward Section of Newport. She worked for many years as a manager for Del’s Frozen Lemonade. Michelle was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and companion of Bob Greichen.

Besides her mother, she is survived by her children, Jamie Estrella of Newport, Jody Lancaster Jr. of Portsmouth, Nicole Connell and her husband Patrick of Portsmouth, RI. Her sister, Kim Bernard and her husband Michael of Portsmouth, RI, and brothers James Paiva of Fall River, MA, Joey Estella Jr of Fall River, MA, Mark Estrella and his wife Diane of Newport, Edward Robinson and his wife Jennifer of Tiverton, RI, Charlie Estrella of IL, grandchildren, Kiaya Thibedeau and Patrick Connell Jr and Michelle’s longtime love, Bob Greichen and her two loving dogs, Max and Colin.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at the O’Neill-Hayes Funeral Home, 465 Spring Street, Newport, RI from 3-6pm. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Michelle’s memory to the Potter League for Animals, P.O. Box 412, Newport, RI 02840.
