Stephen Joseph Gleason, 56, of Middletown died Monday, May 4, 2015 at home surrounded by family.

Stephen Joseph Gleason, 56, of Middletown died Monday, May 4, 2015 at home surrounded by family.
He was the loving husband of Suzanne (Burns) Gleason.
Born in Newport, RI on October 8, 1958, he was the son of the late Daniel A. Gleason, Jr. and Helen (Mason) Gleason.

Stephen grew up in Marshall Village. He was a “jack of all trades,” and master of all. Steve was an avid gardener, fisherman, carpenter, chef, and loved the game of golf. He was a two time champion of the annual Waxwing Open and 2006 Men’s First -flight Champion at Green Valley Country Club. He also was a great animal lover and leaves behind Alice, Duchess of Briarwood, his beautiful golden receiver (she does not retrieve).
Besides his wife of 4 years, he is survived by his brother David Gleason and his wife Karen of Portsmouth, RI and his sisters Elizabeth Casey, Patricia Murgo and her companion Frank Finnegan, and Mary Gleason and her husband Edward Shaffell all of of Middletown, RI. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, May 10th, 2015 from 3-7 in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 11, 2015 at 10 am in St. Joseph’s Church, Broadway, Newport, RI.
Burial will be private.
