Middletown, RI, May 6…. The deadline for submitting signed petitions that will require the Middletown Town Council study the benefits of school regionalization has been extended to May 25th.

Due to the Governor’s easing of restrictions beginning this weekend, Citizen’s Exploring School Unification (CESU) will provide opportunities for Middletown voters to sign the petition in person. Nearly 900 signatures have been gathered to date.

All locations are outside with sanitized materials available six feet from moderators.

SATURDAY, MAY 9

• PLACE: STOP & SHOP Parking Lot, 1360 West Main Rd., Middletown
• TIME: 10-2pm
• PLACE: Shaw’s Parking Lot, 71 East Main, Middletown
• TIME: 10-2pm
• PLACE: 7-11, 726 Aquidneck Ave., Middletown
• TIME: 10 -2pm
• PLACE: 25 Olives Way, Middletown, RI
• TIME: 10-4pm

SUNDAY, MAY 10

• PLACE: 25 Olives Way, Middletown, RI
• TIME: 10-4pm

Alternatively, Middletown voters who wish to sign the petition can download the form on the CESU website, cesu.news, and mail it to CESU, 25 Olives Way, Middletown, RI 02842.

Note that even if you signed the petition last fall, you must still download, print, sign, witness, and mail in a new petition prior to May 25th.
