Potter Pet U: Animal Cruelty

The subject on May 17 is "Fighting Animal Abuse," with Joe Warzycha, RISPCA animal cruelty officer and humane investigator.

MIDDLETOWN, RI β€” Joe Warzycha's name became familiar in Middletown during the recent investigation into the death of Ollie, a pug, the 5-year-old dog that died at Petco, while groomers trimmed his nails. Warzycha's back in Town next week for the Potter League for Animal's monthly class, Potter U. The subject on May 17 is β€œFighting Animal Abuse,” and Warzycha, animal cruelty officer and humane investigator at the Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, is giving the presentation.

His talk will explain what happens when an animal cruelty complaint is made. He will also comment on specific animal protection laws in Rhode Island and reference some case studies. According to the Potter League, "some material may be graphic in nature as photographs from actual cases will be used."
