Project Purple Week continues in Middletown
Show support for the initiative of The Herren Project by displaying a sign in your yard!

Islanders Committed, the youth initiative of the Middletown Prevention Coalition, is leading Project Purple Week activities in Middletown. The national substance abuse prevention initiative was created by The Herren Project to encourage youth to stand up and make a difference.
Eighty-four percent of Middletown students (grades 7-12) have not used alcohol or marijuana in the past month, according to research compiled by the Middletown Prevention Coalition. Families in Middletown are showing support for these students by displaying Project Purple lawn signs.
Islanders Committed will be offering these signs at Middletown High School home basketball and hockey games, and wrestling matches for a donation through January 27. T-shirts and wrists bands are also for sale. The public is invited to display Project Purple lawn signs or purple bows on their property through February 3.
