Recent Grammy Winner, Other Legends Headline 2011 Newport Jazz Fest
The Middletown-based Newport Festival Productions this week announced their lineup for one of the summer's hottest tickets.

Newport Jazz Festival fans will get the chance to enjoy perennial favorites and other jazz luminaries at this year's three-day event, to be held Aug. 5 to 7 at .
The Newport Festivals Foundation, whose offices are based in Middletown, announced Tuesday that 2011 "Best New Artist" Grammy winner Esperanza Spalding will be among the list of performers on both Saturday, Aug. 6, and Sunday, Aug. 7. Also performing that day will be Jazz Festival favorite Wynton Marsalis, Al Di Meola World Sinfonia, Eddie Palmieri Latin Jazz Band, Michael Camilo, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, and nine others.
Joining Spalding on Sunday will be Trombone Shorty again, the Ravi Coltrane Quartet, Angélique Kidjo, Joshua Redman, Charles Lloyd, and more.

Friday night's opening event at the will feature Wynton Marsalis and Michael Feinstein "Come Fly with Me" with special guest Joe Negri.
Schedules will be posted in July. The Newport Folk Festival line-up is set to be announced next week on March 29.

Tickets will go on sale Friday, March 25, at 10 a.m. online, by phone or mail. General admission tickets (single-day passes only) can also be purchased in person at the on America's Cup Avenue.
