In June, Bennett's Team in Training will set off on a 100 mile course in Lake Tahoe with the goal to raise $5,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). It's her third cycling event to raise money for LLS, she said.
All of the money raised for LLS goes to local families in need and to scientists in the southern New England area to develop new drugs and treatments that fight the cancers while being less invasive for the patients, according to the organization's website.
