St. George's School Grad Starts College at St. Lawrence U.

MIDDLETOWN, RI — Karim Abouhassan is a member of the St. Lawrence University, Class of 2020. The school said he is one of some 570 students who enrolled this fall at the private, independent liberal arts institution in Canton, New York.

Fifty-five percent of students came from outside New York State, and 45 percent graduated in the top 10 percent of their high school class. More than 90 percent participated in athletics in high school, 77 percent volunteered or were involved with community service, and 37 percent participated in the arts.

Plus, 54 international students represent 25 countries around the world.

"Each first-year student participates in St. Lawrence University's innovative First-Year Program, one of the oldest living-learning programs in the country," the school said. "Students live together and are taught by faculty teams, developing the writing, speaking and research skills needed for college."
