VIDEO: Oldest Square Dancing Club in New England to Celebrate 60th Anniversary

The Town Howlers will celebrate their 60th year of spinning on Sunday, Sept. 11.

On Sunday, Sept. 11, the of Portsmouth will celebrate their 60th anniversary with a dance in the Rotunda on Easton’s Beach in Newport. The dance on Sunday will be held from 1 to 5 p.m.

Featured above is video of the Town Howlers kicking up their heels and spinning around the dance floor. 

Admission for experienced dancers is $20 per person with a light lunch furnished. Spectators are welcome at no charge.

The Town Howlers are the oldest square dance club in New England and dance on the second and fourth Fridays of the month at the .

Classes for beginners begin, with an introduction to square dancing, on Sept. 18 and 25 at the senior center from 6 to 8.
