Viewfinder: Musicians and Artists Shine for Looking Upwards
Highlights from the 2011 Newport Arts Festival over the weekend that benefited the Middletown-based Looking Upwards.
After a one-month delay thanks to back in August, the returned Saturday and Sunday with enthusiastic crowds and artists intent on helping support Looking Upwards, the Middletown-based non-profit organization that serves persons with disabilities throughout Newport County.
Photography, painting, sculpture, mixed media, woodwork, glasswork, ceramics, jewelry and fiber art filled the booths, under the tents, along the Newport waterfront.
The festival ran through Sunday and offered a wonderful section for children to explore and create. Miss Lisa from "Kinder Art" along with staff all helped out in the kids corner.
