Wednesday: Christmas Puppet Show and Live Opera from Milan
A look at what's happening in and around Middletown today.

- A new three-week session of for ages 2 and 3 begins today at the Middletown Library and will be held each Wednesday through Dec. 21 at 11 a.m. This program is free but requires registration by calling 846-1573.
- The will present its at 7 p.m. tonight as well as Thursday and Friday at 7 p.m.
- The Potter League’s sale will be open for extended hours until 7 p.m. tonight. The sale features Sequin jewelry at up to 80 percent off and 100 percent of the proceeds go to the shelter.
- The will stream a live screening of in Milan at noon. The three-hour-and-15-minute performance will feature Anna Netrebko, who has been called “the opera world’s hottest star,” and will be sung in Italian with English subtitles. Tickets are $24.
- will host an acoustic holiday concert featuring local bands such as The Elderly Brothers and Jimmy Winters to benefit Lucy’s Hearth and The McKinney Shelter from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 and children accompanied by an adult will be admitted for free.
