Pawtucket Teen Charged With Narragansett Town Beach Stabbing Spree

The Pawtucket teen was apprehended by the Rhode Island State Police Violent Fugitive Task Force, police said.

NARRAGANSETT, RI — A Pawtucket teen was charged with Tuesday's Narragansett Town Beach stabbing spree that left three wounded.

Willy Medina, 18, was apprehended Friday by the Rhode Island State Police Violent Fugitive Task Force, the Narragansett police said in a media release.

Medina was charged with felony assault, according to the release.

Hundreds swarmed the beach Tuesday afternoon and police received numerous calls about the stabbings, according to a media release.

Two unidentified adults were arrested Tuesday on charges of simple assault, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and obstructing justice, police said, but those arrests were unrelated to the stabbings.

The three stabbing victims suffered minor wounds, police said at the time.

Medina was arraigned and held as a bail violator, according to the release. At the time of his arrest, he was out on bail while facing charges of license or permit required for carrying a pistol, firing in a compact area, vandalism and disorderly conduct, according to the release.
