Bark on the Beach Returns to Narragansett Town Beach September 13

Animal Rescue Rhode Island will bring its annual Bark on the Beach fundraiser back to Narragansett Town Beach on Sunday, September 13.

Now in its 15th year, the event will bring local residents and their dogs together for a one-mile walk and morning of activities while raising money to support Animal Rescue Rhode Island's programs.

The event will take place from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the South Pavilion, located at 39 Boston Neck Road. Registration and check-in begin at 9:15 a.m.

According to Animal Rescue Rhode Island, last year's Bark on the Beach attracted more than 300 dogs and raised approximately $58,000 for the organization.

This year's fundraising goal is $50,000.

Participants will receive a Wag-Swag Bag, and those who raise at least $60 will receive the 2026 Bark on the Beach T-shirt. The event will also include food, vendors and other activities.

Registration is $40, with day-of registration available for $50. The organization notes that registration fees count toward each participant's fundraising total.

Animal Rescue Rhode Island provides shelter, care and other services for animals in need throughout the state. Funds raised through events such as Bark on the Beach help support that work.

The event is scheduled to take place rain or shine, although organizers say it will be canceled in the event of severe weather.

The event offers an opportunity to participate in a local fundraiser while supporting an organization serving communities throughout Rhode Island.
