Man, 20, Missing Off Newport Shoreline: Reports

NEWPORT, RI — Authorities are searching for a 20-year-old man who was reported missing from a Newport shoreline around 5 p.m. Sunday, multiple reports say.

The man disappeared in the water on the north end of Brenton Point, according to the Providence Journal.

The area, known as the 12 O'Clock High, is "a rocky area where people tend to jump off the rocks into the water," WPRI reported.
