41,000 Rhode Islanders Without Power Following Storm

More than 41,000 Rhode Islanders lost power Wednesday evening after a string of powerful thunderstorms swept across Southern New England. Most National Grid customers are expected to have their power restored by the end of the night.

As of 7:30 p.m., National Grid reported that 41,000 customers were without power. Most of the outages were clustered in Providence County, which accounted for more than 30,000. Outage numbers are listed by county below.

Outages in Kent, Newport and Washington counties were set to be addressed by 9:15 p.m. Wednesday. Bristol and Providence County were still under assessment.
