7-Eleven Employee Charged With Larceny
The employee was supposed to stock merchandise, but the store clerk claimed he helped himself to scratch tickets and cigarettes.

NEWPORT, RI — Jesus Diaz, 42, of Newport, was charged on Thursday with larceny (from a building) under $1,500. He was also charged as an habitual offender and given a no trespass for all three 7-Eleven stores in Newport, police said. The store clerk said Diaz is an employee. Police arrested him at the Broadway store at 9:01 a.m.
According to the arrest report, the clerk went out for a cigarette on June 6; and while he was outside the store, Diaz allegedly went behind the counter and took $280.36 worth of merchandise. Police took him to Newport District Court where he was arraigned.
