ALN Hosts Panel Discussing Upcoming Sailing Events

The Alliance for a Livable Newport will host a panel to discuss the effect several upcoming events will have on the city of Newport.

The Alliance for a Livable Newport will hold a tonight to discuss “A Super Summer of Sails: What can Newporters expect?”

Newport City Manager and Chair of the Logistics Subcommittee of the America’s Cup World Series Host Committee Jane Howington will join the panelists Evan Smith, President and CEO of the Newport & Bristol County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Brad Read, Executive Director of Sail Newport and Chairman of America’s Cup World Series Host Committee, Erin Donovan, Executive Director of Ocean States Tall Ships Festival and Jody Sullivan, Executive Director of the

Jack McVicker, member of the World Series Host Committee and Board Member of the Alliance for a Livable Newport, will moderate the event.

The panel will discuss major sailing events coming to Newport, including the Atlantic Cup, Newport to Bermuda Race, America’s Cup World Series and the Ocean State Tall Ships Festival, and how the city will hand the influx of visitors. 

The forum begins at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium. Doors open at 6 p.m.
