Today's riddle: What do you call somebody who crosses the ocean twice and doesn't take a bath? 🤔 (Answer below!)
• Is it legal to park in front of someone's house in Rhode Island? See law (providencejournal.com) — If you park on a Newport city street, you're required to move your car at least once every 24 hours or risk it being tagged and possibly towed as abandoned. A statewide explainer on Rhode Island parking rules highlights that it's legal to park in front of someone's house on public streets, but warns about blocking driveways and other local restrictions.
• Newport Mansions Christmas 2026: Events, Lights & Ticket Guide (live959.com) — Newport residents can start planning now for six weeks of 2026 holiday celebrations at the city's famous mansions, from Sparkling Lights at The Breakers to wreath workshops and a special Christine Baranski performance. The Preservation Society's schedule includes ticket dates, tour hours, and even a call for donated evergreen trees to decorate Washington Square and Marble House.
• Aquidneck Community Table and Crisis Intervention Teams of R.I. each win $65,000 from the Rhode Island Foundation (whatsupnewp.com) — Nonprofits serving Newport County just received $130,000 from the Rhode Island Foundation, boosting local food access and police training for behavioral health crises. Aquidneck Community Table will expand its Middletown hub on the Newport border, while Crisis Intervention Teams of R.I. will work with Newport-area departments to improve de-escalation and connections to care.
