Another Heat Advisory As RI Braces For Possible Heat Wave
Rising humidity will make the next few days feel sweltering, with highs approaching the 90s.
The week is off to a sweltering start in Rhode Island, with highs topping 90 degrees on Monday and the possibility for a heat wave in the first half of the week. A heat advisory has been issued for the state from 8 a.m. on Monday until 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
To qualify as a heatwave, temperatures must be 90 degrees or higher for at least three days in a row.
High humidity will bring up the heat index, making already extreme temperatures feel even hotter. During heat advisories, try to limit time outdoors, drink extra water and be aware of signs of heat-related illness.
