Aquidneck Island's 'Night Out' Rescheduled Due To Rain

NEWPORT, RI — Aquidneck Night Out, set to be held Thursday evening, was rescheduled due to inclement weather. The community event, sponsored by the Newport Police Department, will be held a week later on Aug. 12.

The rescheduled event will be held at Easton's Beach from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The family-friendly celebration, aimed at encouraging a good relationship between police and the community, will feature a rock climbing wall, face paint, a DJ and live music, costumed characters, bike safety information and a raffle, touch a truck and more. Officers will also offer safety-focused items and activities including car seat installation, child identification kits and gun locks.
