Argument at Mainstay Inn Ends in One Arrest

Police charged a Woonsocket man with domestic vandalism and violating a no contact order.

NEWPORT, RI—Christopher Hann, 27, of Woonsocket, was arrested this morning at 2:26 a.m. with domestic vandalism (injury to property) and with violating a no contact order.

Police said the charges developed from an incident reported on Jan. 9 at 11: 05 a.m. at the Mainstay Inn.

According to the arrest report, Hann and a woman had spent the night at the Mainstay but argued the next morning. She told him she was leaving, and he could find his own way home.

He allegedly threw a 2-liter soda bottle at her car, as she drove away. Police said the soda bottle shattered the rear window.

He was picked up today on an arrest affidavit, police said.
