Argument Over Missing Jewelry Ends in One Arrest
The missing jewelry was worth $60, police were told.

NEWPORT, RI—Joseph DaSilva, 40, of Newport, was charged with Domestic simple assault and battery on Jan. 23 at 7 p.m., police said.
Officers asked him to come to the police station after his girl friend said he injured her during an argument over $60 worth of missing money and jewelry.
She thought he had stolen it, she told police. When she accused him, she said an argument followed. She claimed he grabbed her by the throat and punched her. The blow caused her lip and nose to bleed.
