'The Bachelorette' Films In Newport, Casts Local Extras

Hundreds of hopeful "Bachelorette" fans gathered at Fort Adams State Park on Friday in the hopes of being cast as an extra.

NEWPORT, RI — Fans of "The Bachelorette" gathered in Newport on Friday hoping to be an extra on the hit reality show. The show filmed several episodes at popular locations around the city over the past few weeks.

According to The Newport Daily News, hundreds of people gathered at Fort Adams State Park on Friday afternoon for the chance to be cast as an extra, with the line reaching all the way back into the parking lot. Accepted extras were used for filming on Friday and Saturday evening in Fort Adams and the historic Jane Pickens Theater in downtown Newport, according to The News.

The Newport city clerk did not respond to requests for comment from Patch on the filming or locations.

All filming in Rhode Island took place between March 21 and 31. The episodes will air on the upcoming season, which starts May 13. This year's "Bachelorette" is 24-year-old Hannah Brown, crowned Miss Alabama USA in 2018.
