BankNewport and OceanPoint Insurance Employees Brighten Holidays

BANKNEWPORT AND OCEANPOINT INSURANCE EMPLOYEES BRIGHTEN HOLIDAYS FOR NONPROFIT NEIGHBORS

NEWPORT, R.I. (January 16, 2018) – With help from the community and its employees, BankNewport and OceanPoint Insurance generated awareness and support for local nonprofits in their tireless efforts to warm the hearts of those less fortunate this past holiday season.

Employees adopted three families through local Adopt a Family programs –one family from Child and Family Services, one family from East Bay Community Action Program, and one family from Lucy’s Hearth. Gifts for children and adults were purchased from their wish lists.

An employee bake sale and casual day donations resulted in additional funds that were used to purchase gifts for the adopted families, as well as a special holiday donation in the amount of $1,246 for the Salvation Army –Newport Corps.

BankNewport and OceanPoint Insurance also joined Project REGive in support of a holiday collection to benefit Lucy’s Hearth and the Women’s Resource Center of Newport and Bristol Counties. From December 15 through January 12, five BankNewport branches – Newport, Middletown, Portsmouth, Bristol and Warren – were collection locations for unwanted or duplicate holiday presents. All donations of unused toys and gift items for adults and children collected during the three week period will be presented to both agencies so that they may celebrate birthdays and other important milestones with their clients throughout the year.
