Beach Boys Sign on to Newport Concert Series

The Beach Boys will be surfing into the Newport Concert Series at the Newport Yachting Center this summer.

The band will perform on Aug. 16 and they go on sale at noon on Thursday.

It's the first time they've been to Newport in five years.

Since their explosive debut 50 years ago, The Beach Boys have sold albums by the tens of millions while forever changing the landscape of music by influencing nearly every pop artist who has followed. More than the Beatles, The Beach Boys found the key to unfading youth through their music. The group’s latest Capitol Records release, “Sounds of Summer” and its companion, “The Warmth of the Sun,” marks resurgence in Beach Boys interest that has again rocked the world of music.
