Free Backpacks for Students

East Bay Community Action Program’s East Bay Family Health Care will host Newport County’s Back to School Celebration Event on Saturday, August 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 6 John Chafee Boulevard, Newport. The event is free and open to all Rhode Island residents. Students must be present to receive school supplies.

Several organizations will join East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) at the event to share information about available resources for children and families.

EBCAP is partnering with the state-wide Back to School Celebration Committee to offer this event which is taking place simultaneously at 13 different locations across Rhode Island. It will feature free backpacks, school supplies, giveaways, and information for families.

East Bay Family Health Care is presently accepting new patients at its health care facilities in Newport and East Providence that serve Newport County, Bristol County and East Providence, RI.
