The Jamestown Chapter of Little Dresses for Africa will meet on Thursday, September 24, from 1-3 pm at Central Baptist Church, 99 Narragansett Avenue. Sewing skills are helpful, but not necessary to turn pillowcases into dresses with simple patterns and directions. Machines, materials and guidance are provided. The non-profit Little Dresses for Africa, which has chapters in 97 countries, distributes dresses for little girls in need in Africa, Honduras, Haiti, and Guatemala. Since its founding 20 years ago, Little Dresses for Africa has distributed more than 8 million dresses sewn by volunteers around the world.
