Follow in the footsteps of Newport’s colonial-era Jewish community and discover where congregants lived, worked, and worshiped in the 1700s.&nbsp; This guided walking tour leads you through the historic Touro Synagogue neighborhood, bringing the synagogue’s rich history to life. The tour lasts approximately one hour. 
September &amp; October Tour Schedule: Sunday, Monday, Thursday, and Friday @ 11:00 a.m. ---&gt; except Sun.9/13, Tues. 9/21, Sun. 9/27, and Sun. 10/4 when the site will be closed 
GUEST INFORMATION: •&nbsp;Tours are limited to 18 people. • Tour Fee is $18 per person • Reservations are requested • The tour fee is paid for in person at the Loeb Visitors Center via card or cash (no online payments). •&nbsp;Walks may be canceled without advance notice due to inclement weather.

Note: Some sidewalks are narrow and uneven. This walk is not appropriate for young children. Celebrate over 250 years of Touro Synagogue history, Newport’s colonial Jewish community, the origins of religious freedom, and the separation of church and state in America. Admissions fees to the Loeb Visitors Center's two floors of exhibits and the gift shop have been waived. We welcome donations and suggest a $5 per person.&nbsp;

Would you like to tell a story or do improv at an open mic?Public speaking consistently ranks among people's greatest fears. Yet, at some point, we have opportunities, and we want to do well.
Through techniques drawn from actor training, you will learn to shift your focus away from internal anxiety and toward what truly matters: your physical presence, your vocal power, and your ability to tell a compelling story. Acting is not about pretending; it is about being fully present and connected to your audience. These same principles can turn public speaking from a source of dread into an opportunity for genuine connection.

About the Coach, Michael Langlois

Michale Langlois is a performing arts professional based in New London with decades of experience as a director and acting coach. He offers personalized coaching to help people build confidence in public speaking and shape compelling story lines. Michael has been the Artistic Director of the New London-Based Ashford Youth Theatre for 20 years and he designs and implement programming for Flock Theatre Company, also in New London.

About the book:
In the serene town of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, Lily Webb is deeply 
in love with a charismatic boy, a college-bound quarterback whose 
spectacular athletic talents are matched only by his fierce devotion. 
But their dreams of a life together are cut short when his passionate 
protectiveness leads to an irrevocable choice—one that tears them apart 
and leads Lily down a path of heartbreak from which she may never 
recover. 
Lily already knows the sting of loss, beginning with the death of her 
mother, a tragedy that left deep scars on both her and her gifted 
younger sister, Jane. Jane seeks escape in the abstract world of 
mathematics and quantum mechanics—when she can keep the demons that fuel

About the author:
Debra Curtis is a retired professor of cultural anthropology at Salve
 Regina University, where she specialized in gender and sexuality. This 
is her first novel. She is the mother of grown-up twin girls and lives 
in Rhode Island with her husband.
