Career Clothing Collection Empowers Local Job Seekers

NEWPORT, R.I. (June 29, 2017) – Employees and clients from Finn and Meehan Wealth Management of Middletown and employees from BankNewport’s Administration and Operations Center also of Middletown recently hosted a Career Clothing collection drive to gather gently used, high quality, career ready clothing to benefit two programs under the auspices of East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) – The Career Closet and The East Bay Skills Alliance.

“Thanks to the career clothing donations from Finn and Meehan and BankNewport, our Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) students will be sure to make a positive first impression” stated East Bay Skills Alliance Project Manager, Jamoya Ridgell. “Career ready clothing will give them a chance to show their professionalism and boost their confidence as they embark on their career.”

The Career Closet, located at 55 Turner Avenue in East Providence, serves income eligible individuals seeking employment by providing them with appropriate clothing for their interview process and a work wardrobe once employment is secured. East Bay Skills Alliance educates, trains and empowers Rhode Island residents to embark on career pathways to become employed in available jobs and provides Rhode Island employers with skilled, work-ready employees who contribute to the economic development of their community.
