Casting Call for Short Film to be Shot in Newport

A short film being shot in Newport this summer needs actors.

Rachel Perry, production manager at Giant Robot Films said a slew of actors are needed for the upcoming film, "Sarah Wyse," a story about two women who try to outsmart each other and "outrun their past."

The film, directed by Scott Rancourt and produced by Rocco Films in association with Summing Point and Giant Robot Productions, will host a casting call on Aug. 5 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Firehouse Theatre at 4 Equality Park Place in Newport.

The following characters will be needed for the film (3 Starred names are main characters):

***DEE – (LEAD) 30+ years old; sophisticated jewelry thief,

will be needed every shoot day

***SARAH - (LEAD) 15 years old; extremely smart; homeless;

will be needed every shoot day

*BOSS OF JOB SITE – (Construction Worker) 55 years old; will be needed part of one shoot day

*WORKER AT JOB SITE – (Construction Worker) 25 years old;

will be needed part of one shoot day

*EDDY – (Mechanic) 35 years old;  thin; wears dirty clothes;

will be needed part of one shoot day

*HOMELESS MAN – dirty; wears very filthy clothes; long beard;

will be needed part of one shoot day

*SECURITY GUARD – big, muscular, stoic; will be needed part of one shoot day

*LINDA – 40 years old; jewelry store worker; will be needed part of one shoot day

*BARTENDER – Female works at Lucky’s Bar; will be needed part of one shoot day

*RICO – 40 years old; big; burly; biker type; will be needed for one shoot day

*DARYL – 35 years old; gear head; wears dirty clothes; smokes cigarettes; will

be needed for either one or two shoot days (most likely two)

*CAB DRIVER – will be needed for part of one shoot day

*EXTRAS AT LUCKY’S BAR – biker types, mostly men/ couple of females;

will be needed for part of one shoot day. 2 Men needed for additional scene.

Men with Harley’s preferred.

*EXTRA(S) AT FONTAINE’S JEWELRY STORE –

will be needed for part of one shoot day

*EXTRA(S) AT CAFÉ – will be needed for part of one shoot day
