Christmas Trees Will Be Picked Up Week of Jan. 12

The city of Newport’s Clean City Program has announced that curbside pickup of Christmas trees will occur during the week of Jan. 12 along with yard waste.

Be sure that all ornaments, tinsel and any other non-organic items are completely removed from the tree before putting it out on the curb.

And don’t miss the removal date since there won’t be another yard waste collection until the week of March 16. Unless your neighbors like the idea of a dead tree hanging out by the side of the road for two months, now is the time to start thinking of taking that tree down.
