Coast Guard Rescue: Diver Has Died After Accident Off Beavertail
The Coast Guard responded Sunday afternoon to a diving accident in the water South of Beavertail.
NEWPORT, RI — Castle Hill's Coast Guard station responded Sunday afternoon to a diving accident in the water South of Beavertail. The Woods Hole sector communications officer said the Coast Guard boat picked up the injured person, who was was taken back to Castle Hill where emergency medical workers were waiting. The Public Affairs Officer in Boston on Monday confirmed the person was flown by medical helicopter to a trauma center, and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
