Counterfeit Louis Vuitton Bags: Middletown Woman Turns Herself In
A 71-year old woman faces seven felony counts, police said.

NEWPORT, RI — Sandra A. Gaines turned herself in to police at 8:30 a.m. Thursday in connection with an investigation into counterfeit merchandise allegedly being sold at Vintage To Vogue and Vintage To Vogue Too on Thames Street. She did not make a statement, police said, and was taken to Second District Court. She is being charged with Forgery/Counterfeiting/Alter Trademarks, police said.
According to the arrest report, the victims are Gucci, Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Yves St. Laurent, Michael Kors, Burberry, and Tony Burch. The inventory includes a Gucci belt, worth $395, a Hermes bracelet, worth $660, and a Louis Vuitton purse worth $950.
Newport police received a tip last June about several stores where counterfeits were allegedly being sold. They investigated and raided eight stores. The other stores that were raided earlier are Be Dazzled, 23 America’s Cup Ave., Be Dazzled, 225 Goddard Row, Heaven on Earth,3 Christie’s Landing, Chez Shell, 408 Thames St. and Heaven on Earth, 431 Thames St.
