Cranston Man Arrested at Newport Harbor Hotel
Daniel A. Fisher, 51, of Cranston, was charged with a felony for possession of crack cocaine, police said.

NEWPORT, RI—Officers were called to the Newport Harbor Hotel on Wednesday at 4:53 p.m. to escort a guest out of the building. The front desk staff had complained Daniel A. Fisher, 51, of Cranston, was flirting with them and making them feel uncomfortable, police allege.
Initially, officers were told the hotel management did not want to press charges, even though the manager said another guest accused Fisher of exposing himself to her daughter, a 15-year-old, while they were in the elevator. Police stopped Fisher in the parking lot as he was leaving. He denied the allegation, and the teenager later also changed the story. But she claimed he offered her a glass pipe which he was smoking.
Fisher denied that allegation, too. However, police said they searched a bag he was carrying with several thousand dollars in cash. The bag also contained a white rock, which officers suspected was crack cocaine.
