Dangerous Heat, Humidity Headed To Rhode Island To End The Week

Extreme heat and humidity are back in the forecast for Rhode Island. Temperatures are expected to reach the 90s, with feel like temperatures over 100 degrees.

The humidity will move in first on Tuesday, though temperatures aren't expected to be higher than the low 80s. The heat will arrive Wednesday, climbing to 89 degrees, with the heat index likely to reach 100. Thursday is expected to be the peak of the potential heat wave, with maximum heat indices near 110 degrees in some parts of the state.

The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Relief is expected to come over the weekend alongside rain on Saturday.
