Down Time For Newport Ferry
WPRI-TV is reporting the Seastreak ferry cancelled trips for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, due to an accident on the last run Saturday night.
NEWPORT, RI —The Seastreak ferry has cancelled trips between Newport and Providence for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. According to WPRI-TV, the reason is due to an accident on the last run Saturday night.Both the Seastreak website and the state Department of Transportation site said the service was scrubbed for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday "due to unforeseen circumstances."
It's unclear whether the ferry will be back in business on Wednesday.
"We hope to resume service on Wednesday 6/21/2017. Please call us at 1-800-262-8743 with any questions, or to reschedule your trip," Seastreak wrote on its website.
